Driven by Doppler
Our brand identity for Canal+ Motorsports has a multi-sensory creative approach that brings the thrill of the race track to viewers of the French broadcaster’s coverage of F1, F2 and F3, MotoGP, IndyCar, World Rally Championship and W Series. The Doppler effect – the change in frequency of sound waves as an object such as a race car moves towards you – provided our creative inspiration, enabling us to truly convey the visceral experience of competitive motorsports. A comprehensive suite of brand assets, including a bespoke variable typeface and sonic branding, rolls out across each race weekend, including TV idents, broadcast graphics, studio set design and marketing assets. D8 conceived, directed and delivered the project, in conjunction with international collaborators Soma Studios (CGI, Australia), PSY/OPS Type Foundry (Type design, USA) and YellowsharkMusic (Sound design, France)
